Wedding invitation - what finish should you choose?
You might be pondering over on how
your wedding invitation should look like. Should it be engraved?
Engraving your wedding invitation gives it a classic
timeless look but it is the most expensive and time-consuming method. There aren’t many choices if you choose engraving as the technology and
printing methods are more of less the same.
Another method you may think is
thermography. It is less expensive and the final product looks
similar to those engraved. Only a professional can see the difference. You can save much time if you choose this method. The only thing is
that you cannot see the indentation that engraving makes for thermography.
The quality of the paper is important.
You may choose an expensive printing method but the quality of the paper is inferior, the final look would not look presentable.
Thus choosing good quality paper stationery is important. You might be able to save some money
by choose a less expensive printing method but on quality paper, and yet get the desired effect you want.
Some other methods you may consider is
the flat printing or letterpress. Depending on the design of your invitation, flat printing
might be a good choice though it seems less formal. For example, if you are having a beach wedding, you might want to include some pictures
of the seaside or landscape, thus flat printing might be a choice for you. Letterpress costs approximately the same price as
engraving.
So depending on the effect you want
for your wedding invitation, you might need to budget quite a bit into your wedding budget if you choose engraving. Also do clocked in the
time needed for the printer to print out the invitation cards.
Do not rush the printer or else you
may find that your cards may not look nice!!!
You might also want to ask the printer
if they can provide some samples of your wedding card before mass production, so that both of you are satisfied with the
results.
